Alli double helps Spurs win at Stamford Bridge after 28 years

LONDON, England: Dele Alli scored twice in four second-half minutes as Tottenham Hotspur beat Chelsea 3-1 on Sunday to end a 28-year wait for a Premier League win at Stamford Bridge.

Defeat for the hosts all almost ended Chelsea's hopes of Champions League next season as Spurs opened up an eight-point lead over their closest challengers for fourth place.

“It was very good, for our fans it was fantastic to feel the victory here. The performance was good and we’re so, so happy," said Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Pochettino heaped praise on Alli despite the England international has struggled to meet his high standards this season.

"I'm vey pleased for Dele," he added. "It's been a tough period for him, but I like his talent, his character. I'm so happy for him because he deserved it." (Pic credit: Tottenham Twitter handle)
