CAF president Ahmad visits Aspire Academy

DOHA, Qatar: The Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Ahmad Ahmad visited Aspire Academy and praised its facilities.

“Aspire Academy is doing everything possible and for its student-athletes to achieve their goals of becoming high-level professional athletes” said Ahmad. “I’m confident they are on the right track to form a strong Qatari team capable of competing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.”

Ahmad was welcomed by academy Director General Ivan Bravo, who briefed him on the progress of Aspire Academy and its leading role in shaping the sports map of Qatar and sports development in general.

Bravo and Ahmad both explored ways of joint cooperation between the Academy and the CAF, especially in the field of promoting the culture of football at grass root level and the academy's experience in discovering football talents.

“What I saw during my visit, the infrastructure and the planned programs will ultimately achieve the desired goals. We’ve to wait and see the initial results at the 2022 FIFA World Cup,” said Ahmad.
