Constantine ignores I-League

KOLKATA, India: Stephen Constantine selected a 32-member probable side India’s next match in the AFC Asian Cup, but ignored some players who had an impressive performance in the recently-concluded I-League.

Despite his outstanding season in the back-line with champions Minerva Punjab, Sukhdev Singh didn’t even get a call from the national coach. Similarly, Michael Susairaj (Chennai FC), Bali Gagandeep (Minerva), Subhash Singh (Neroca), Arijit Bagui and Sheikh Faiz (Mohun Bagan) and Laldanmaia Ralte (East Bengal) didn’t find a mention in the list.
