Delhi Dynamos appoint Mridul as assistant coach

KOLKATA: Mridul Banerjee, who recently guided Mohammedan Sporting to a fourth-place finish in I-League II, was appointed as Delhi Dynamos assistant coach on Monday.

He took over from Shakti Chauhan, who left the side earlier this month.

The 59-year old joins Dynamos after on the back of close to three decades of coaching experience that has seen him being associated with Mohun Bagan, Indian Arrows, India U-16 and India U-19 teams among others.

Recently, he was appointed as Mohammedan coach after the exit of Biswajit Bhattacharya.

“We are delighted to have someone like him. He comes with great experience and is the sort of coach who understands the club’s philosophy,” the club said in a statement on Monday.
