Doha all set to host African Super Cup

DOHA, Qatar: For the first time, the CAF Super Cup 2019 final will be held outside Africa, and the Local Organising Committee said that the Qatari capital is ready to receive the African champions, Esperance Sportive de Tunis and Raja Casablanca.

Khalid Al Kuwari, Marketing Director, Abdullah Al Hammadi, Event Services Director, Jassim Al Jassim, Head of Venue Operation, and Fahad Bu Hindi, Captain, Ministry of Interior, announced the event details at a press conference.

The LOC urged the ticket holders to arrive early at Thani bin Jassim Stadium (Al Gharafa Stadium) to avoid congestion near the entry gates.

It was announced that the gates will be opened at 3.30 pm on Friday whereas family activities will commence two hours prior.

Tunisian artist Ahmed Sharif and Moroccan artist Hatem Amro will also perform for spectators attending the match.

“Preparations is complete for the training sessions of the two teams at Thani bin Jassim Stadium,” said Jassim Al Jassim, Head of Venue Operations.

He also requested the fans to reach the venue early to avoid overcrowding. More than 20,000 spectators heading at the same time could make flow of crowds difficult for the organizers, he said.
