Emir Cup visits Indian school in Doha

DOHA, Qatar: The Birla Public School and The International School of Choueifat students were invited to be part of the first stop of the Emir Cup School Trophy Tour on Monday.

The 46th edition of the Emir Cup has reached the quarterfinals stage with the quarterfinals will be held on Thursday and Friday followed by the final on May 19.

The Qatar Football Association (QFA) delegation received a warm welcome from the school children, who displayed different dance performances and shows to express their enthusiasm.

The delegation consisted of Ali Al Salat, Head of Media, Noora Al Tammimi, Head of Social Responsibility, Abdulrahman Abduljabar, Social Media Specialist, Nabil Qayed and Mohammed Hashim, Schools Coordinators.

Players Talal Al Bloushi and Abdulhamid Enad from Qatar’s most popular teams Al Arabi and Al Rayyan were also present.

The QFA delegation was welcomed by the Birla Public School staff and students also engaged in football related conversations with the players and officials.

The students gathered enthusiastically around the famous trophy to take pictures while wearing their favorite jerseys.

“We are proud to welcome the Emir Cup Trophy in our school and to be part of the promotional campaign. Being part of this major event has a great impact on the students and faculty as it makes us feel involved in the competition,” said BPS Principal P A Sharma.
