DOHA, Qatar: India will meet Jordan in the first semifinal of the Sixth Asian Community Football Tournament here at the Doha Stadium on Friday.

In the other semis, Nepal will face Lebanon.

India had defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the quarterfinal while Jordan overcame Indonesia 2-0.

The community event, which brings together various Asian communities in Qatar, is organised by the Qatar Football Association http://www.qfa.qa/.

The competition initially featured six teams in its first edition, but the number of entries grew in later years following a positive response.

A total of 12 teams are taking part in this year’s edition.

The best players of last week’s quarterfinals include Murad Al Sous (Jordan), Shiva Shrestha (Nepal), Shahed Bakr (India) and Hussain Mansour (Lebanon).

The tournament falls under QFA’s Sub-Leagues Committee which oversees the organising of QFA’s tournaments that target the different segments of the community.
