India qualify for SAFF Championship semifinal

NEW DELHI: India advanced into the semifinal at the SAFF Women's Championship after they defeated Sri Lanka 5-0 at the Sahid Rangashala Stadium in Biratnagar, Nepal, here on Sunday.

The result extended India's unbeaten run in the competition's history to 21 games and secured the top spot in Group B.

Grace Dangmei, Sandhiya Ranganathan, Indumathi Kathiresan, Sangita Basfore and Ratanbala Devi scored for the four-time champions, who face Bangladesh on Wednesday while hosts Nepal will take on Sri Lanka in the other fixture.
