Indian girls outshine Pakistan 4-0 in AFC U16 Championship

ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia: India took a giant step towards qualifying for the the next round of AFC U16 Women Championships after sailing past Pakistan 4-0 at the MFF Stadium on Wednesday. 

India, who defeated Hong Kong 6-1 in their opening match on Saturday, opened their account in the 21st minute through Aveka Singh and doubled their advantage just before halftime in the 42nd minute from Kiran’s effort.

Pakistan, who have lost all their matches, tried to fight back in the second half but fell further behind in the 81st minute when Sunita Munda hit India’s third and Shilky Devi Hemam made it 4-0 seven minutes later.

India will meet Mongolia on Friday while Pakistan, who remain at the bottom of Group B, will face Hong Kong next on Sunday. (Courtesy:AFC)
