Kerala Blasters B overcome Chennaiyin FC B

CHENNAI, India: A first-half strike by Pragyan Gogoi helped Kerala Blasters FC Reserves overcome Chennaiyin FC B 1-0 in the 2nd Division League on Thursday.

After three draws and four defeats, CFC B will aim to finish with a win when they face Fateh Hyderabad AFC in their final Group B fixture on Tuesday.

The hosts made five changes to the side that had lost 3-0 to Ozone FC in their previous game. Goalkeeper Samik Mitra replaced BY Revanth as Harsh Bartwal came in for Joseph Lalsanglura in defence. Hendry Antonay also started as Joysana Singh made way. In midfield, Vijay Thangavel started in place of Zonunmawia as Syed Suhail Pasha replaced Bawlte Rohmingthanga upfront.

CFC had a good chance in the opening ten minutes when striker Krishna Pandit received the ball, but failed to convert.

KBFC dominated and took the lead in the 39th minute when Gogoi’s long-ranger beat goalkeeper Samik Mitra.
