Korea complete Asia's line-up for FIFA Women's World Cup

Korea complete Asia

AMMAN, Jordan: South Korea will join Australia, China, Japan and Thailand at the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will kick off on June 7, 2019, in Paris.

Korea shrugged off the disappointment of group stage elimination to qualify for a second successive Worlds, defeating the Philippines 5-0 in the AFC Asian Cup 2018 play-off for fifth place on Monday.

The Asian teams have a proud history, with Japan lifting the trophy in Germany in 2011 and reaching the final four years later in Canada while China played in front a record 90,000 fans in the final of the 1999 edition in the United States.

The World Cup draw will be held on December 8.
