Listless East Bengal drop points against Kolkata Customs

KOLKATA: Listless performance by East Bengal saw them drop points In a goalless draw against Kolkata Customs in Calcutta league on Friday.

The hosts, who made one change in the starting lineup from their previous match, missed plenty of chances and failed to score.

Young winger Bidyasagar Singh was brought in to replace Brandon Vanlalremdika.

Lone striker Gagandeep Bali looked completely clueless and failed to threaten the opponent's defence.

Customs came close to score in the 37th minute when striker Eze Stanley dribbled past two East Bengal players and unleashed a shot at goal from the edge of the box, but Rakshit Dagar came to East Bengal's rescue as he pulled off a great save.

The defending champions introduced Mahmoud Al Amna and Brandon Vanlalremdika in place of Kamalpreet Singh and Bidyasagar in the second half. Those double changes did help as Amna injected pace and thrust. They attacked in hordes, but failed to find the gap in the opponent defence.
