Mohammedan Sporting overcome BSF 6-5 in tie-breaker

KOLKATA: Substitute goalkeeper Sourav Chakraborty saved two shots in the penalty shootouts as Mohammedan Sporting Club beat Border Security Force (BSF) Jalandhar 6-5 in the first semifinal at the Bordoloi Trophy semifinal in Guwahati, Assam, on Monday.

The match ended goalless after the stipulated 90-minute.

Sporting had their chances through David Asamoah, Adjah and Sumit while BSF went close through Jitinder Rawat and Ramakanta Hembram but both the sides failed to break the deadlock.

The Black Panthers will now play the final on November 8.
