Mohammedan Sporting want to maintain winning run

KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting want to maintain their winning run when they take on Tollygunge Agragami in the Calcutta Premier Division ‘A’ match here on Saturday.

Sporting defeated East Bengal 2-1 last week and helped them move up to fourth place with 16 points from eight matches.

But Sporting Technical Director Raghu Nandi wants to maintain a low profile.

“The boys have been turning up with some very good performances but I still think there’s so much we need to do better and improve on,” Nandi told the club’s website. “We are hoping to continue with our winning run and it should be a good habit for us to pick up wins consistently.”

Ghanaian international Philip Adjah Tetteh, who scored both the goals against East Bengal, will hope to deliver the goods.

“We aim for a top two finish and it’s possible. We want to get three points from our remaining matches. We are going to try harder and achieve this goal,” added Nandi.

Tollygunge are 10th in the league with just four points from nine outings. They need a win in their remaining two games to survive in the top flight.

“Tollygunge will go all out for a win. So we need to be patient and play well,” he said.
