Morocco fight back to beat Slovakia 2-1 in friendly

NEW DELHI: Morocco came back from behind to beat Slovakia 2-1 in a pre-World Cup friendly in Geneva on Monday.

The Slovaks took the lead in the 59th minute through Jan Gregus, but Morocco scored through Ayoub El Kaabi (64) and Younes Belhanda (74).

Morocco are in Group B alongside Portugal, Spain and Iran, while Serbia are in Group E with Brazil, Switzerland and Costa Rica.

The North Africans will take on Estonia in Tallinn while Serbia will face Bolivia on Saturday.

In other matches, Guillermo Maripan scored the winner three minutes from time to see Chile past Serbia.

Italy, who failed to qualify this time, drew with the Netherlands 1-1 after Nathan Ake grabbed a late equaliser for the Dutch.

Simone Zaza had put Italy ahead after 67 minutes in Juventus, but lost defender Domenico Criscito who was sent off for a tackle on Ryan Babel.
