Nordic football heads meet QFA President in Doha

DOHA, Qatar: Finnish Football Association President Ari Lahti along with four other football heads from Nordic countries met with the Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Al Thani here at the Al Bidda Tower on Monday.

Football Association of Norway head Terje Svendsen, Danish Football Association President Jesper Moller, Swedish Football Association (SWA) Vice-President Jorgen Eriksson, SWA General Hakan Sjostrand and Vice-President of Faroe Islands Football Association Roin O. J. Schroter were among the delegates who were present at the meeting which discussed on the bilateral relations concerning football between Qatar and Nordic countries.

They also discussed matters of mutual interest and the importance of developing the sport in Qatar and the Nordic nations while continuing to enhance the cooperation between them.

At the end of the meeting, the parties stressed on the importance of building on their relationship and further developing them in the future to help impact football in a positive way.

The delegation is currently in the Qatari capital Doha as their national teams will have their winter training camps.

Four teams are also set to play friendly matches on January 8, 11 and 15 and will be held at Al Sadd and Khalifa International Stadiums.

From QFA’s side, the QFA General Secretary Mansoor Al Ansari, Executive Director of QFA President office Ali Dawood and QFA Executive Director of Strategy and Institutional Development Mushtaq Al Waeli also attended the meeting.
