Real Madrid hope to extend winning run against Espanyol

Madrid: Real Madrid will hope to extend their winning run when they travel to Espanyol in a La Liga match tonight.

"We'll need to put in another great performance to keep our good run going," said Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said on the club's website.

Their fine run of form has coincided with the team's return to their goalscoring best. Madrid have netted 20 times in their last five outings (an average of four goals per game) and eight of these have been scored by Cristiano Ronaldo, who has enjoyed some excellent form in his most recent visits to Espanyol.

"We want to keep our good run going. To do that we have to go out in every game. Go out strong, play well, think about our goal and defend when we don’t have the ball. We have to start from scratch and we want to play well at a difficult ground," said Zidane.

Zidane worked with a full squad in the final training session, barring the injured Jesus Vallejo, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Marcelo.

Sergio Ramos and Marco Asensiowho missed out on the win over Alaves, are once again available for selection.
