Real Madrid notch up 150th win in Champions League

MUNICH, Germany: Real Madrid got their 150th win in the Champions League to become the first club to do this in the current format of the competition.

In their 22 seasons, they have played 249 games and won the title on six occasions – two of those were in a row – 48 draws and 51 defeats complete the statistics.

Madrid have scored 531 goals, conceded 268 and notched 349 points.

No other European side has lifted as many Champions League crowns in this period and of the leading five sides in the competition standings drawn up by UEFA, Barcelona are the only team to have been involved in the competition as many times.

Barca are second in the rankings, with four trophies and 138 wins to their credit followed by Bayern Munich, who have twice tasted glory and have racked up 128 victories.

Manchester United (two trophies and 114 triumphs) and Juventus (one continental crown and 87 wins) make up the list of the top five teams.
