Rising Student Club win Indian Women

SHILLONG, Meghalaya: Rising Student Club won the 2nd Indian Women’s League when they defeated Eastern Sporting Union 5-4 on penalties here at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturday.

The match had ended 1-1 after the regulation time. 

Roja Devi found the back of the net from outside the box in the 13th minute, but Sanju equalised after she converted from the spot. 

Rising Student Club were awarded INR 10 lakhs while Eastern Sporting Union took home INR 5 lakhs.

For finishing top scorer with 12 goals, Bala Devi bagged the top-scorer award with 12 goals and Panthoi Chanu won the best goalkeeper award. 

The ‘Most Valuable Player’ was awarded to Prameshwori Devi with INR 1.25lakh and Dangmei Grace won INR 75,000 as the ‘Emerging Player Award’.
