Thailand out to improve record at AFC Asian Cup

ABU DHABI, UAE: Thailand, who will be appearing in their first Asian Cup finals since co-hosting the 2007 edition where their campaign ended at the group stage, arrived here for the AFC Asian Cup on Sunday.

Milovan Rajevac’s men will be looking to impress, especially after relinquishing their AFF Cup title, with Vietnam winning the recent 2018 edition.

Thailand will play in Group A with hosts UAE, Bahrain and India.

They kick-off their challenge against India on January 6. They then face Bahrain on January 10 and the UAE four days later.

Thailand’s best achievement in the tournament was in 1972, when they finished third. Their subsequent five appearances ended in the group stage and they will be aiming to better that here. (Source: the-afc.com)
