It is almost after 12 years, that a Kerala club is taking part in the Asia’s oldest tournament.

“We have started our training camp three weeks ago. The players are improving after each day. We are playing with good pace and strength. But we need to improve to win the title. Our intention is to play good football,” said Fernando.

Gokulam have signed four foreigners Brazilian midfielder Bruno Pelissari, Ugandan striker Henry Kisekka, Trinidad and Tobago forward Marcus Leric Joseph and defender Andre Enttienne.

“We’ve experienced foreigners. Their experience is important for us. They need to combine well with the rest of the players. We are working to improve the local players and playing along with these foreigners would bring major improvement in them,” added the coach.

Meanwhile, the club said in a statement that Marcus will lead the team in the tournament.
