DOHA: The second edition of the HH the Amir Grand Prix Lusail Shotgun Competition kicked off on Friday at the Lusail Shooting Complex and will run until February 21. The event has drawn significant participation, with 250 shooters from 34 countries, including 12 Olympic champions and 42 athletes representing Qatar.
The opening day featured official training sessions for the skeet event across four categories: men, women, junior men, and junior women. A total of 66 male shooters, 14 female shooters, 16 junior male shooters, and 5 junior female shooters took part in the sessions.
Qatari shooters delivered strong performances during training, setting the stage for the official start of the competition tomorrow, Saturday.
The tournament features both skeet and trap events across all four categories. The official skeet competition begins tomorrow on five ranges, with shooters competing over 75 targets in three rounds. The event will continue on Sunday.
