DOHA (Qatar): Al Rayyan face another tough opponents Al Sailiya in the Qatar Stars League (QSL) on Thursday.
Rayyan missed a big chance to put pressure on Al Duhail when they were held to a goalless draw by Al Arabi last week.
Diego Aguirre’s men need to win to keep their title dreams alive and Aguirre said they do their best even though Sailiya are tough opponents.
“Of course, every game is going to be difficult,” said Aguirre at the pre-match video press conference. “Sailiya have very good players and a very good coach and they will be very tough opponents.”
“But we are ready to play a good game and to win. We need to recover quickly and come back to winning ways. We will continue fighting for our dream,” said the Uruguayan.
Duhail are four points ahead of Rayyan after their victory against Al Gharafa last week and even though they face Xavi-coached Al Sadd, with just three more round to go, they need just two victories to win the title and Aguirre conceded that they have a very slim chance of winning the title.
“We know we are in a difficult situation to win the league but we still have a chance and we will try to take it game by game and see what happens. But now we need to win this game. Rayyan always play to win. We are second and we need to believe that it is still possible.”
