DOHA (Qatar): Qatar Olympic Committee’s (QOC) 2nd Padel Tournament 2020 will kick off Tuesday at Al Sadd Sports Club, with the participation of 304 players and will run until Saturday.
Participants are divided into three categories with eight teams will play in category (A), 48 in category (B), and 96 in category (C).
The QOC will award winner in category A QR 6,000, while second and third runners-up will get QR 4,000 and QR 3,000 respectively. The winner in category B receives QR 4,000, second QR 3,000 and the third QR 2,000, in addition to in-kind prizes for the first three places in category C.
The QOC organized the first edition of its Padel Tournament last year with 96 players.
QOC’s organization of the Padel Tournament comes within the framework of raising awareness of the importance of practicing sport for a healthy and disease-free life, as the main goal of the Olympic Committee.
The game of Padel is a sport that combines the best elements of tennis and squash. A Padel court is smaller than a tennis court. It is one of the most popular sports in the world, especially in Spain.
