DOHA (Qatar): Al Sadd will look forward to win their Amir Cup when they take on Al Arabi in the final at the Al Gharafa Indoor Court here on Wednesday.
Al Sadd had to slog to get past Al Wakrah 78-77 for a place in the final while Al Arabi overcame Al Ahli 80-74 in the semis last week.
“A strong match awaits us. But we have great determination to win the title,” said Sadd coach Vasilis Bratsiakos.
On the secret of his team’s success in the current season, the Greek said, “There are no secrets. The main reason is to work hard every day and insist on winning every match, believing in our abilities and doing our best.”
Al Sadd player Faisal Abu Issa said that the team’s goal is to win the crown.
“We were able to reach the final match because of our great ambition. We hope to culminate our efforts in this version of the tournament by winning the title,” said Faisal. “The goal now is to win the crown.”
On the final he added, “We know the match will not be easy. But we are determined to present our best level during the final. Our ambitions are limitless.”
Al Sadd has won the title twice while Al Arabi has been successful just once in the tournament history.
