DOHA (Qatar): Aspire Academy and Qatar Foundation agreed to extend their two-year football training agreement following the approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Ali Salem Afifa, Deputy Director General of Aspire Academy, and Amy Johnson, Director of Community Engagement at Qatar Foundation.
Taking part and present at the signing ceremony were Aspire Technical Director of Football, Edorta Murua, Aspire Football Administration manager, Saeed Al Marri and Hamad Al Shaiba, Qatar Foundation Sports Programming Specialist.
“This agreement is more than just a contract; it is a symbolic partnership of unity as two key national institutions join forces to benefit the wider community.
The Aspire Zone Foundation and Qatar Foundation both play a central role in the realization of the Qatar National Vision 2030, as both entities continue to actively support and contribute to the Human Development Pillar of the national vision, through sports and community development respectively,” said Ali Salem.
The agreement stipulates that Aspire Academy will continue benefiting from the use of three of Qatar Foundation’s football pitches to train youth talent.
The sites are located at Education City, Al Khor and Al Wakra.
“Community development is at the core of Qatar Foundation’s mission and, this agreement further demonstrates our commitment to supporting and reinforcing the development of Qatar’s society. The work of Aspire Academy makes an invaluable contribution,” said Amy.
