DOHA (Qatar): Saurav Ghosal, Vikram Malthora, Mahesh Mangaonkar and Ramit Tandon are the four Indians who will be in action at the PSA Men’s World Championship which starts here at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex on Friday.
Malthora got into the fray after the withdrawal of Australia’s Ryan Cuskelly. He will now take on England’s Declan James in round one while Ghosal and Mangaonkar will face each other in round one.
Tandon will fight it out against Spain’s Borja Golan.
Also pulling out was Egypt’s World No.1 Ali Farag, who gave the championship a skip due to family reasons.
Farag’s withdrawal meant that world No.3 and last season’s runner-up Tarek Momen take his place in the draw. He will face Germany’s Raphael Kandra in round one.
New Zealand’s Paul Coll replaces Momen and will play wildcard Hama Al-Amri.
Colombia’s Miguel Rodriguez takes Coll’s place in the draw and square up against Egypt’s Youssef Soliman, with England’s Daryl Selby meet Youssef Ibrahim.
France’s Baptiste Masotti now comes into the tournament and will play Egypt’s former World No.3 Omar Mosaad in round one.
