DOHA (Qatar): Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez said his team will try to maintain the winning run in Qatar Stars League when they take on Umm Salal tomorrow.
“Umm Salal are a determined side and their coach is a fighter. I think they will find solutions through counter-attacks. We are the favourites to win. But as usual, we have to show our true level on the field to collect the three points,” said Xavi.
“We have a great group of players and we are going through a good period, but we have to keep going like this and keep winning.”
Al Sadd are in good form and are the current leaders.
“I try to rotate the players because everyone deserves to play and we have a large group and every player is important to us. The levels of players are close, and we have outstanding youngsters and professionals.
“The return of goalkeeper Saad Al Dossari to training after his injury makes me very happy. He completed his recovery process well,” said Xavi.
Al Sadd player Hashem Ali said, “We are the only unbeaten team in the league so far. We drew only one match. Our only goal is victory.
“I am happy with my performance. I scored two goals and set up a goal against Al Ahli and also played in the Ooredoo Cup. I am happy to be playing in Al Sadd beside the best players in Qatar and Asia. We are a very good team.” (Source: QSL)
