KOZHIKODE (Kerala): Gokulam Kerala FC have completed the signing of Malian forward Saliou Guindo for the upcoming I-League season, the club said on Friday.
The 24-year-old is the final foreign signing of the Malabarians.
Saliou has played in Turkey, Tunisia, Cote d’Ivoire, Albania and Bahrain. He has also represented Mali Under-20 side that finished third in FIFA World Cup in 2015.
His best performance is in Albanian league, where he has scored 11 goals in the 2019-20 season.
“I am glad to sign for Gokulam Kerala FC. I have taken part in a training session already and the squad is full of young and vibrant players. I am ready to work hard and make sure that we bring the trophy back home,” said Saliou.
“Saliou is a quality striker. He has the skills to score with right and left foot. He is very fast. He has 11 goals in Albanian league, which is a top-level league. He has also played for Mali national team. He is young and he has the quality to become top scorer in India,” said GKFC head coach Vincenzo Alberto Annese.
“It is a great pleasure to add another top quality player to our squad. We wish him the best for I-League and IFA Shield,” said Gokulam chairman Gokulam Gopalan. (Source: Gokulam FC)
