DOHA: Qatar will host the Padel World Championship from November 15 to 20 for the first time in the Middle-East.
Speaking on the sidelines of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation Secretary-General Tareq Zainal said this will be the first time the championship will be held in the Middle-East.
The competition will be held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
Talking about holding Qatar ExxonMobil Open and Qatar Total Open, he said QTF has coordinated with the ATP and
the WTA to hold the competition while adhering to the precautionary measures in place to contain the spread of Covid-19.
He expressed regret that many fans missed out on the opportunity to attend the tennis matches, due to the 20 percent cap enforced on attendance.
He also said the federation is fully committed to implementing the precautionary measures when it comes to the attendance
of fans.
