New Delhi (India): Hans Women FC overcame Hops FC by a solitary goal in the final to win the Football Delhi Women’s League on Saturday.
Anushka Samuel scored the all-important goal.
“It’s one of the best organized leagues in Delhi. It was a great platform for our players to play competitive football after COVID,” said Hans captain Jyoti Burret.
Hans thus once again qualified for the Indian Women’s League (IWL).
This year’s league, held at Jawaharlal Nehru and Ambedkar Stadiums, was started on March 22 with 20 teams that involved 432 players.
The winners was awarded a cash prize of INR 50,000 while HOPS took home INR 25,000. Losing semifinalists Signature FC and Growing Star FC received INR 10,000 each as prize money.
Deepika Venkatesh won man of match award while Aveka Singh was declared the Golden Boot Winner with 27 goals scored in eight matches.
Vanshika Rana, who kept seven clean sheets in eight matches, won the Golden Glove award.
Ruchika Yadav (Rangers FC), Gorvi Rawat (VS Banga Darshan FA), Neha (HOPS FC), Lavanya (Delhi Student), Varshika (HOPS FC) were named as Emerging Players.
