JAKARTA (Indonesia): Indonesian senior national team will undergo a trial match against Oman on May 29 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Football Federation of Indonesia (PSSI) said on Sunday.
Oman is the second country to agree to conduct an international trial with the Indonesian national team, which is scheduled to depart for the UAE on May 10.
“PSSI’s communication with several federations has been positive. After Afghanistan, which has confirmed a trial with the Indonesian national team on May 25, the Oman federation also agreed to conduct a trial. This is certainly positive news as part of the preparation of the Indonesian national team to face the 2022 World Cup Qualifying match in the United Arab Emirates, “said PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan.
AFC has chosen the UAE as the location for the continued centralization of the World Cup Qualifiers for Group G.
Indonesia will play against Thailand on June 3, Vietnam on June 7, and UAE on June 11.
“Coach Shin Tae-yong wants at least two trial matches as a warm-up match that the Indonesian national team must play before facing the remaining matches of the 2022 World Cup qualifying round. We have communicated and have confirmed that these two countries will compete in the UAE later, “said PSSI Technical Director Indra Sjafri.
