DOHA: Reigning champions Al Sadd slammed four goals in the second half to ease past Al Arabi 4-0 in the QNB Stars League at the Khalifa International Stadium on Friday.
Sadd fifth win in a row ensured Xavi Hernandez’s men stay at the top of the table with a maximum 15 points as their main rival Al Duhail will not be in action this week as their match against Al Wakrah was postponed to a later date due to the health measures that prevented Duhail players from participating in training and matches.
After a goalless first half, prolific striker Baghdad Bounedjah scored in the 59th and 76th minutes, captain Hassan al-Haydous (61st minute) and Andrew Ayew (82nd-minute penalty) found the net apiece. Al Arabi remained on nine points after suffering their second defeat. The Dream Team have won three matches.
