LONDON: Manchester City has signed Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland on Tuesday for a contract that runs until 2027.
The five-year deal is worth £375,000 a week, paying £51million for the Borussia Dortmund superstar.
A club statement read: “Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the Club on 1st July 2022.”
Pep Guardiola had wanted to discuss the 21-year-old’s impending move at his news conference earlier in the day but said both clubs had asked him not to.
Norwegian striker Haaland, 21, is one of the hottest prospects when the transfer window opens having scored 85 goals in 88 games for Dortmund since his debut in January 2020.
