Manama (Bahrain): Qatari tennis team on Saturday qualified for the Asian Group IV of the Davis Cup after its victory over Mongolia in three matches in the fifth group qualifiers.
The national team achieved victory over its Mongolian counterpart after Mashari Nawaf defeated Mongolian Munkh Baatar in the first singles match by 4-6, 6-1, 6-2.
Mubarak Shannan managed to win the second match after defeating Mongolian Oyunbat Baatar 6-2, 6-2.
In the doubles match, the duo Issa Shannan and Rashid Nawaf secured Qatar’s victory after defeating the Mongolian duo Sono Mpuntsag and Undrakk 6-1, 6-3. (QNA)
