DOHA (Qatar):The United Arab Emirates Football Association (UAE FA) said on Wednesday that the UAE Pro League will be provisionally resumed in August following the latest developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The decision came after assessing the situation with the UAE health authorities who are battling the coronavirus which forced all football activities to be stopped in March.
“UAE Football Association decided, in coordination with UAE Pro League, to resume the football activities in the country next August,” said the statement.
The UAE FA will continue to evaluate “the situation with the competent authorities, FIFA and AFC, taking into consideration the health situation at that time,” the statement continued.
“The Football Association will determine the regulations and decision-making mechanism for its competitions later and in a sufficient period, to allow the clubs to prepare the best way possible.”
