DOHA (Qatar): Al Arabi coach Heimir Hallgrimsson said the match against Al Ahli on Friday will be a tough one despite his team’s improved performance in the Qatar Stars League.
“We respect Al Ahli. They played a good season and surprised many teams. We have to make a good match and give our best to win. It will be a difficult match,” said Hallgrimsson.
Mehrdad Mohammadi (18th minute), Mehdi Torabi (38th minute) and Abdulrahman Anad (71st minute) scored the goals as Al Arabi completed a hat-trick of wins against Al Khor in the prevous match.
They now have four victories and 15 points.
“We had performed well in the last three matches and before in the confrontations against Al Duhail and Al Rayyan, as well as in the Amir Cup final against Al Sadd. The team has significantly improved in the past period,” added the Icelandic coach.
On the team’s preparation, he said: “Our preparations are not much different from previous matches. We focus on developing many aspects such as team spirit. We are trying improve.”
Al Arabi player Sebastian Soria said, “We have a wonderful group of players who are doing their best and working hard for the team and I feel comfortable in the club.
“Facing Al Ahli will be difficult like all matches in the league, but in particular this match is important to us after three consecutive victories to continue the fighting spirit of the players. I also hope to provide the same performance that we did in the past games in order to win.”
