DOHA (Qatar): Al Duhail’s Medhi Benatia, Al Sadd’s Baghdad Bounedjah, and Al Rayyan’s Sebastian Soria were among those fined by the Qatar Football Association for a lack of commitment towards the approved protocol regarding COVID-19 examination for technical staff and players.
The QFA Disciplinary Committee, which held the meeting via video conferencing, made the decision based on reports by the Qatar Stars League (QSL).
Al Sadd’s Jung Woo-young, Yousuf Al Balushi, and Marco Fabian, Al Duhail’s Youssef Msakni and Luiz Martin were also fined.
The committee issued a warning for Al Rayyan team manager Omar Al Azani and imposed fine on him due to non-compliance with the protocol on precautionary measures.
The committee also discussed reports of QFA and QSL on recent activities and the technicalities of the return of action.
The tests were in accordance with the precautionary measures and in co-operation with the Ministry of Public Health and Aspetar hospital.
It may be noted that all clubs completed the first set of Coronavirus tests, as part of the arrangements being made ahead of the resumption of 2019-20 QNB Stars League, according to the general plan and protocol developed by the Qatar Stars League and approved by the Ministry of Public Health.
QSL also thanked the Aspetar hospital besides the clubs, players, coaches and administrators for their wholehearted co-operation during this difficult period when everyone needs to join hands together.
In this regard, the QSL extended its sincere thanks and appreciation to all parties concerned for their co-operation in the testing process, headed by the Ministry of Public Health, and all healthcare workers.
