DOHA (Qatar): Al Sadd ended the swimming 2019-20 season on a high by winning eight of the nine tournaments organised by the Qatar Swimming Association (QSA).
Sadd won Qatar Shield, Federation Shield, Qatar Cup, Open Water Championship, Freestyle Swimming Festival, Backstroke Festival, Breaststroke Festival and Shield of Excellence.
QSA President Khalil Ibrahim Al Jaber awarded the trophy to the team at the closing ceremony of its sports season on Wednesday.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman and members of the QSA Council Turki Al-Ali, General Director of Al Sadd Club, Ali Faraj Al Ghanem and Reem Al Buainain, club’s Technical Supervisor.
Sadd won the Qatar Cup, topping it first with a total of 79.24 points, followed by Al Arabi (72.17) and Qatar Sports Club (69.05).
The tournament witnessed strong competition after a break of more than eight months due to the coronavirus pandemic as new records were witnessed.
