DOHA (Qatar): FIFA Medical Committee President Dr. Michel D’hooghe praised Aspetar’s outstanding medical services.
“When the FIFA 2022 World Cup arrives in Qatar, I’m sure the medical care will be excellent. We’re near the stadiums. Aspetar has of the best infrastructures. There’s no doubt on the medical care around this World Cup,” said Dr D’Hooghe.
Dr D’hooghe was on a short visit here to attend the first-ever Asian & European Champions league team doctors’ workshop that concluded in Doha last Thursday.
“Aspetar is an example of high-level care in the prevention and diagnosis conservatives besides the surgical therapy. Athletes come here because they’ve first class care. Aspetar is a leader of football medicine,” said Dr D’Hooghe.
The first-ever Asian & European Champions league team doctors’ workshop featured seniors doctors from the FIFA and AFC medical committees.
The workshop was an opportunity for the practitioners to learn through practical sessions and real-life examples. It also offered a strategic approach to help team doctors on role of football medicine.
The two-day seminar discussed the tools and techniques designed to address a range of issues that directly affect the safety and care of players.
“My presence was to share my experience. This meeting had something for the future. There was a lot of wisdom and experience,” added Dr D’Hooghe.
