DHAKA (Bangladesh): Bangladeshi cricketers ended their strike after the authorities met most of their demands including a pay hike for domestic first class players.
The decision came as a relief for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after the strike appeared to jeopardise their lucrative tour of India where they would play three T20 and two Test matches from next month.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan said they would meet most of the demands of the players.
Supreme Court lawyer Mustafizur Rahman Khan earlier read out a list of demands on behalf of the cricketers.
Bangladesh national and first-class players announced the strike calling for better pay and benefits.
Test and Twenty20 captain Shakib Al Hassan led the rebellion with all the star players joining the protests.
“The talk was successful,” said Shakib.
