MUMBAI (India): Former India international Madan Lal has been appointed as one of the three members to Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Cricket Advisory Committee on Friday, the cricket board said on Friday.
Rudra Pratap Singh and Sulakshana Naik are the other members on the panel.
The term of appointment will be for one year, BCCI said.
Madan Lal represented India in 39 Tests and 67 ODIs and was a member of the triumphant Indian team that won the World Cup in 1983.
He later served as the coach of the national side and was also a member of the senior selection committee.
Singh played for India in 14 Tests, 58 ODIs and 10 T20Is and was a part of the Indian squad that won the World T20 in South Africa in 2007.
Naik played two Tests, 46 ODIs and 31 T20Is for India in a career spanning 11 years.
“It is an honour,” Lal said, making it clear that he is waiting to hear from the BCCI on the future course of action.
The committee is likely to meet in the next few days to plan the interview process for the senior national selection panel.
Naik is looking forward to the new role. “It is a big responsibility and I will try to fulfill my duties,” she said.
