LONDON: Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games have signed four new sponsors to provide services and equipment for the event.
Aston University headlines the new partners of the Games as the official university sponsor.
Their role is to loan ophthalmic equipment, specific eye medical items, and supply eye care, which is supported by qualified optometrist volunteers.
They will be based in three polyclinics that will contribute towards building healthcare facilities for team officials and athletes.
The university will also provide parking and temporary electric vehicle charging areas to help the event in its goal of becoming the most sustainable Commonwealth Games in history.
Aston Business School postgraduates will oversee developing concepts to create a lasting sustainability legacy for the city.
Birmingham 2022 organisers and the West Midlands Combined Authority will review their ideas once they have been developed.
