DOHA (Qatar): Claes Byberg emerged as the overall winner in 2020 Qatar Golf Association Cup competition at the Doha Golf Club recently.
Byberg finished top in the Gross Division ahead of Qatar national team player Ali Al Shahrani.
The weekend competition the first one held after the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown saw over 150 golfers taking part in the competition.
Thomas Aiden took the third place in the Gross Division while Yohan Pedder and Arnav Jain took the fourth and fifth spot.
In the Net Division, Waheed Al Khamis took the top spot followed by Daniil Sokolov, Terenece McGuire, Michelle Reid and Nichapa Wichaidit
The organisers also gave away some prizes with Sam Wall bagging the Long Drive for Men, while Nada Mir and Lisa Wahlqvist shared the Long Drive for Women while Andrew McSeveney got the Nearest the Pin for Men.
In the Qatar Golf Academy Junior Team Scramble, the team of George Mayne, Daniil, Fedor Sokolov, Cat Dann topped followed by Huda, Mohd Al Kolosi, Nasser and Al Ali
The third-place finishers were Essa Al Kuwari, Kamil Benrokiya, Theodore Shoueiry, Azfar Ali they were followed by Mohammad Ather Ali, Mubarak Al Kuwari and Adam Aboushbana.
The team consisting of Eiman Al Ali, Molly Henell, Maja Henell came fifth.
