LISBON: The 47th Ordinary UEFA Congress was held today in Lisbon, Portugal, and the 55 member associations unanimously re-elected Aleksander Ceferin as UEFA President for a four-year term by acclamation.
Speaking ahead of his re-election, Ceferin said: “Protecting this game is our mission. Our goal. Our purpose. Our raison d’être. We are elected, and we have a duty to set an example. We must never forget this. All of us.”
Elections for the UEFA Executive Committee
The 47th Ordinary UEFA Congress elected the following candidates for:
- seven positions on the UEFA Executive Committee for a four-year term
First ballot (absolute majority 28 – more than half of the 55 valid votes cast)

Laura McAllister (WAL) was elected for the reserved female member position on the UEFA Executive Committee for a four-year term, and Hans-Joachim Watzke was elected for one member position on the UEFA Executive Committee for a two-year term, both by acclamation.
The 48th Ordinary UEFA Congress will take place in Madrid, Spain on 8 February 2024.
