DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for successfully hosting the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, marking Pakistan’s first global cricket tournament since 1996. The event, held from February 19 to March 9, featured matches across four venues—Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in Pakistan, along with Dubai in the UAE, where five games were staged by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).
In a thrilling final at the Dubai International Stadium, India clinched their third Champions Trophy title, defeating New Zealand by four wickets.
ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice lauded the PCB’s efforts, stating, “This was a landmark event for Pakistan, and those involved in preparing the venues, hosting teams, and organizing the tournament should take immense pride in their work.” He also acknowledged the ECB’s role in successfully staging matches in Dubai and emphasized the global appeal of ICC events, which were followed by millions worldwide across stadiums, TV, and digital platforms.
Allardice further thanked the eight participating teams for delivering a thrilling competition and extended congratulations to India on securing their third Champions Trophy victory in a memorable final. (ICC)
