Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia): SP Falcons secured a 1-0 victory over Deren FC as the 2020 Mongolian Premier League kicked off on Wednesday.
The match was played behind closed doors at the MFF Football Centre here due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the national state emergency restriction in effect until July 15.
Munkh-Erdene Tuguldur broke the deadlock in the 34th minute to give Falcons the advantage going into the second half as the Ulaanbaatar-based side held on for victory.
League action will resume on Saturday with FC Ulaanbaatar entertaining Athletic 2020 and Anduud City taking on Khangarid.
Defending champions Ulaanbaatar City will open their account against Ulaanbaataryi Mazaalaynuud on Sunday, while 12-time league champions Erchim will travel to Gepro on Sunday.(Source: AFC)
