DOHA: Football competitions for 2019-2020 season in Qatar will be completed between July 24 and August 26, the Qatar Football Association (QFA) said on Sunday.
The announcement comes after the COVID-19 outbreak had earlier forced the suspension of all matches, QFA said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Al Duhail midfielder Youssef Msakni said he was keen on returning to action in the Qatar Stars League.
“The whole world has stopped and sports is one among the sectors that has been affected,” said the Tunisian international, who joined the then Lekhwiya in 2012-13 season. “We hope everything gets back to normal, but we must adhere to all instructions and take precautionary measures.”
“In my opinion, the clubs need adequate time to prepare its teams. Only then they will be able to compete in the league after the sports lockdown is over.”
