DOHA (Qatar): Harith Noah Koitha Veettil on Friday became the only Indian to complete the 2021 Dakar Rally and finished P20 overall after an incredible run through 12 stages, the highest-ranking by any Indian rider in Dakar so far.
The Kerala-based rider managed to finish 20th overall after an incredible run through 12 stages in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
“The entire stage was super dusty, another first for me. Navigation was incredibly hard and I tried to keep my focus. Made a couple of good calls which worked out in my favour. Completed the stage with a little tip-over 500m out from the finish,” said Harith.
Harith entered the rally as a privateer supported by Sherco Racing while TVS Racing backed the rider after withdrawing from Dakar at the last minute.
This was his second outing at Dakar and the rider has managed to get incredible results in what was a tough rally as a whole for all competitors, new and experienced alike.
Harith’s journey to the 2021 Dakar started early. As soon as August he moved to the south of France, living with his former team-mate Michael Metge.
Following the footsteps of pioneers Santosh CS and Aravind Prabhakar, the young Keralite, who was born in Germany, won multiple national titles in motocross and supercross last year.
