DUBAI: The ICC has revealed the star-studded shortlists for the ICC Men’s and Women’s Player of the Month awards for March, following a thrilling month of international cricket headlined by the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy and crucial T20I series around the globe.
Men’s Player of the Month: Trophy Heroes and T20I Titans
India’s Shreyas Iyer, New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, and Jacob Duffy headline the men’s shortlist after delivering standout performances in March.
🇮🇳 Shreyas Iyer
Iyer played a pivotal role in India’s record third ICC Champions Trophy triumph. The stylish right-hander racked up 172 runs in the final three matches of the tournament, averaging 57.33. His composed 79 against New Zealand in the final group clash, followed by crucial knocks of 45 and 48 in the knockout stages, proved vital in guiding India to glory under the Dubai lights.
🇳🇿 Rachin Ravindra
Ravindra continues to shine on the big stage. The all-rounder was crowned Player of the Tournament after another classy campaign with both bat and ball. His tournament-defining 108 in the semi-final against South Africa and all-round brilliance in the final nearly clinched it for the Kiwis.
🇳🇿 Jacob Duffy
Duffy earned his maiden Player of the Month nomination after lighting up New Zealand’s T20I series win over Pakistan. The fiery quick snared 13 wickets at a jaw-dropping average of 8.38, including two devastating four-wicket hauls in Christchurch (4/14) and Mount Maunganui (4/20), catapulting him to the top of the ICC T20I Bowling Rankings.
